One day event tagged “my voice, our equal future” by Emechihu Favour Discovery Foundation (EFDIF) in commemoration with the United Nations International Day of the Girl Child was a success.
It focused on the Girl child demand to:
- Live free from gender-based violence, harmful practices, and HIV and AIDS.
- Learn new skills towards the future they choose.
- Lead as a generation of activists accelerating social change.
The conference was to educate the girl child to understand her make-up as a girl child, her emotions: the truth about her sexual emotions, how to harness energy/boost her creativity, and how to live a chastened lifestyle. The conference was also to prepare the less privilege and vulnerable children for school resumption as they learn new skills. Another component of the conference was to support the protection of children from diseases like HIV and AIDS.
Over 50 children were in attendance at the event and seven key speakers spoke on the various areas of discuss. Lives were impacted!
